I woke up to the sound of rain today. little j was sleeping next to me ... and Big J was standing at my bedroom door. I turned and saw an empty side of the bed (the same emptiness that has been there since January). Sad.
A couple girlfriends stopped by for some coffee this morning. That was a nice change of pace ... and I was able to let Big J watch Finding Nemo, instead of running around a coffee shop acting like a nutcase.
While they were here, E called! He only had 5 minutes left on his calling card. He sounded so far away, so tired ... I am sure the heat and jet-lag is having one giant effect on them all. Before I could say good-bye, the call ended ... we ran out of minutes. If he reads this ... "bye, talk to you soon and I LOVE YOU!"
This is going to a a long, rainy day ... and a LONG year...............

- I am a mommy to two boys and a beautiful little girl. I want to better myself every day and make people smile. I want to laugh at least once a day, have a good cry every once in a while, and feel passionate about at least one thing.
THINGS I HATE:
rudeness, being late, arrogance, abortion, frigid temperatures, Winter 2008, goat cheese, a dirty house, not fitting into my clothes, friends who are self-centered, a slow metabolism, men who have "girly" cell phone rings, rude cashiers, good-byes, people who drive slow in the fast lane, know-it-alls, time changes and, oh yea, did I mention Winter 2008?
THINGS I LOVE: my sons- Joshua and Joseph, my husband- Eric, my parents and sisters, sunny days, my skinny pants, shopping when I have money to spend, saving gift cards until I REALLY need to go shopping, blasting my car stereo with good old rock and roll, when a new magazine makes it into the mailbox, vacation, a phone call or letter from a friend just to check in, Mass, the beach, a good martini, reading a book I cannot put down, fireworks, a clean home, nachos, a good scary movie, the smell of cut grass and of burning leaves, and a great evening with friends and sitting outside on a warm summer night (with a glass or two of wine, of course).
I love to watch reruns on TV, I am a HUGE sports nut (GO KNIGHTS! Chicago Cubbies, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bears, and to my husband’s dismay, I still root for the good ol’ Tampa Bay Bucs) and I am the world’s biggest fan of my family.
THINGS I WISH WOULD MAKE A COME BACK:
GOOD rock and roll, kids riding their bikes till their house lights came on, MTV with videos, the value of having a TRUE friend, MC Hammer pants, slumber parties, the thrill of an ice cream cone on a warm summer night, being a teenager with NO responsibilities, mall bangs.
